Step 3 · First deposit
Making a first deposit on Exness — calmly
A deposit is made only inside the Exness Personal Area, in the Deposit section. The payment options and minimum amounts shown there depend on the country, the account type and the payment option, and Exness requires a successful first deposit before a real account can be used for trading.

In short
- There is no rush: the demo account lets the platform be learned first, without any deposit.
- Before paying, check how the money can come back: withdrawals usually return to the payment option used for the deposit.
- Money goes only through the Exness Personal Area — never to a person, a chat or a “helper”.
Where the deposit section is
- Sign in on the official Exness Personal Area page or in the Exness Trade app.
- Open Deposit.
- Choose a payment option from the list shown for the account. The list is set by Exness for the country and can differ from what friends in other countries see.
- Choose which trading account receives the money and enter the amount.
- Confirm the payment and keep the receipt or confirmation screen.
- Check the status in the transaction history of the Personal Area.
Deposit is grey or “not available for your account”
- Verification not finished. Some steps of the profile or documents may still be open; the verification section shows what is missing. Finish it first.
- Only “transfer between accounts” is visible. That is the internal transfer screen; look for Deposit in the main menu of the Personal Area or the app.
- A message says deposits are not available and asks to contact support. Only Exness can see why and lift it — open the Support hub in the Personal Area and quote the message exactly.
Why the minimum deposit looks different
There is no single minimum, so different people quote different numbers. Two limits apply at the same time:
- The account type. Each account type has its own minimum first deposit, shown when the account is opened. Professional account types need more than basic ones.
- The payment option. Each option in the Deposit section shows its own minimum amount, and it can differ by country.
The higher of the two is what counts for a first deposit. The exact numbers for a particular account are shown in the Deposit section next to each option.
Minimum deposit applicable; may vary based on payment method or geographic location.
Check before paying
- Verification. Exness lifts deposit limits after full verification; finishing it first saves a second attempt.
- Your own payment account. Pay from a card, bank account or wallet in the account holder's own name.
- The way back. Withdrawals usually go back to the payment option used for the deposit, so choose one that can also receive money. How withdrawals work.
- Currency. If the payment currency differs from the account currency, the bank or payment provider converts it at its own rate.
- The right account. Real and demo accounts sit side by side; check that the deposit goes to the intended real account.
If the money left but the deposit has not arrived
- Look at the status in the Personal Area transaction history: processing, completed or failed.
- Compare the time passed with the processing time shown for that payment option. Processing times may vary depending on the chosen payment method.
- Do not repeat the payment while the first one is still processing — it can lead to two charges.
- If the time has passed or the status is unclear, open the Support hub in the Personal Area with the date, amount, payment option and the bank or wallet confirmation.
Only Exness can see and fix a payment. Partner Support can explain where the history and the Support hub are.
How much to start with
There is no right amount, and nobody should press for a bigger one. A first deposit is safest when it is an amount whose complete loss would not cause problems. Trading CFDs with leverage can take the whole amount quickly; the risks page explains how.
